Brookbanks are master developers and project consultants behind major development and infrastructure projects around the UK. They came to us to connect the two arms of their business into one clear story — through discovery and strategy, brand positioning, a new website and a new brand voice.
The challenge
Brookbanks' business is split into two arms: a project consultancy and a master developer. Together they offer end-to-end lifecycle support for major development and infrastructure projects — but to the market, the two halves read as two businesses.
They asked us to create brand positioning for the whole company: connect the dots between the master developer and project consultancy offerings, and present one clear, cohesive picture rather than a business split in two.
The approach
We started as we always do: with thorough research and strategic thinking. A discovery phase mapped the current brand positioning and customer perceptions — interviews and workshops to gather customer opinions and attitudes, desk research to understand the industry landscape, and a holistic review of the existing website to understand pain points, future needs and drivers.
That work yielded the data that underpinned the entire project: the brand's positioning, vision, ambition and proposition, and the customer journey. By the time we touched a design tool, we knew exactly what the new website had to do.
The outcome
The strategy was complemented by end-user research and audits of the existing site's content, design, technical build and SEO. With that groundwork done, we built a lightweight, attractive and agile website from the ground up — on an easy-to-use CMS that lets the Brookbanks team update content whenever they need to.
